Salah Ibrahim is originally from Kurdistan and emigrated to New Zealand in 1996. He started training at age 16, and entered his first contest at age 17 the Club Physical Auckland Championships.

Salah was awarded IFBB professional status in 2006 and made his professional debut at the 2008 Australian Grand Prix at only 24 years old, making him one of the youngest IFBB pros. At 5ft 6” tall he competes at 195lbs/90kg.

Salah runs his own supplement business, and is the training partner of fellow IFBB pro Moe El Moussawi. One year prior to his pro debut, Salah was involved in an altercation with resulted in him receiving six stab wounds outside of an Auckland nightclub.
