Why are Posing Suits So Important?

If there is anywhere that money should be spent when competing – it is on your suit.

Spending money on a suit is almost first priority. A good suit will make your physique look vastly more impressive. Posing suits are designed to do just that – highlight your physique to the very best.

Here is a secret; cheap suits look just like that – cheap suits. It is very hard to look the part of a quality physique competitor in a Kmart off the rack cheap suit.

Look the pro lineups – especially higher level…at the Olympia and Arnold, bar none they all wear gorgeous custom fitted suits.

At the risk of offending people but in the interest of speaking the truth, it is all too common to see amateur level Australian figure competitors onstage in extremely low quality, unprofessional and ill fitting looking suits. Many amateurs wear fabulous suits, but some do not.

Unless you are a person who genuinely competes for the fun, and 100% do not care whatsoever your placing or what the audience thinks – get a quality suit.

Below is a small montage of competitors wearing high quality one piece suits. We really wanted to provide a counter montage with some cheap suits showing the striking difference [as it is striking!] but did not want to use photos of people in that negative light, so we did not.

Quality shows.

A good custom made suit will not only look fabulous, but will be fitted well for your physique.

Things to Consider When Choosing a Posing Suit

Consider color psychology, your skin tones, general fashion rules as well as your physique.

Some colors are just not meant to be worn. Again look at top pros, when was the last time you saw a top pro in a fluorescent lime green posing suit?  Recall you are going to be judged, you may think the color is fabulous, but in the end most people want to score well so it is a wide idea to be sure the color you are wearing has cross appeal. If you want to be daring – go for it – but generally sticking with the traditional colors seen at the top ranks is always a wise idea; blues, greens, turquoise, purples, reds, black, certain shades of brown. White suits have long been considered a “no-no”.

This section is under construction, so please check back, we will be adding more including  links of Australian suit designers.
