2008 New Zealand Pro Show

The New Zealand Grand Elite Pro was held on March 15, 2008 at the Trust Stadium in Auckland and offered $20,000 prize money for the Pro Division and $10,000 for the Elite Amateur Division. The pro show was held in conjunction with an amateur show, and it is New Zealand's first pro show since 2001[results of that show here]. The show was promoted by Mark Stewart and Moe Moussawi. Joanne Stewart Wins Her Class at the Arnold Amateur

New Zealand sent one entrant to the 2008 Arnold Amateur and Joanne Stewart had a highly impressive performance beating 16 other lightweights to win her class, and barely missing the overall. Joanne was beaten for the overall by heavyweight Maria Seguro of Mexico, a somewhat controversial decision to some. Seguro had won the IFBB North Americans last year which qualified her for IFBB pro status so many queried why she was still in the competing amateurs, a highly unusual occurence in North America.

Joanne also had photo shoots while at the Arnold, including a shoot with Martin Schoeller for a coffee table book of images of professional bodybuilders including former Ms. Olympias Lenda Murray, Iris Kyle and Yaxeni Oriquen. Joanne has the honor of being the only amatuer to be included.

The scoresheet is located here and here are two pics of Joanne from this show:
