Training
The older I get the more I have to listen to my body. I have & will always stick with compound movements. Training is broken down into 6 week cycles with 2 weeks of heavy weight 4 6 reps, 2 weeks of 8 10 reps & 2 weeks of matrix 20s (like 21s but done 4 sets of 5). I have found over the years that this works best for me. I do take one or two exercises each week in different workouts & go beyond failure. I like to train as hard & intense as I can. When training there is no time for chit chat, its time to go all out.
Diet / Supplementation
I eat clean all year, my body type dictates this. I always try to eat at least every 2 ½ - 3 hours with a meal of protein / carbs / fats. My calories during the off season are obviously greater than getting ready for a show but they are all good calories. Once a week I will have a cheat meal of home made pizza or whatever I feel like cooking but its never a meal full of saturated fat. Nandos at Cronulla gets a workout once in a while with the chicken steak.
I am part of team MUSASHI & am fortunate to have access to the full MUSASHI range of supplements. Amino acids are the bodys building blocks & I have been using the products since 1995 with great results. During the recent ANB World Discovery tour in June 2008 I used Re Activate prior to pre judge & can honestly say that I have never in my competitive life felt so full & looked so vascular on stage. Feeling my muscles fill up as my body absorbed every amino acid was great. I rely on whole foods to get the majority of my nutrition & its pre, during & post training that I supplement the most. Pre training = Re Activate + Re Activate Hardcore, during = Elevator, post = recovery stack.
