One of Australia's top amateur bodybuilders, Melita was born in Osijek Croatia on the 3rd of September 1967, and emigrated to Australia with her family when she was 3 years old. Now she residing in Melbourne, she is a mother of two and works as a personal trainer.

Her contest history includes:

• 1995 ANBF (Now INBA) Melbourne Titles 2nd Place
• 2005 NPFC-IFBB Southern States 1st Place
• 2005 NPFC-IFBB Victorian Titles 1st Place
• 2005 NPFC-IFBB Australian Titles 3rd Place
• 2006 NPFC-IFBB Southern States 1st Place
• 2006  Country Classic Invitational- - Overall Winner
