John Terilli entered his first bodybuilding contest in 1976, and went on to gain IFBB pro status a few years later. His career lead him to compete all over the world, and qualify for the prestigious IFBB Olympia.

To this day, John Terilli remains one of the few bodybuilders, and the only Australian to have won both the amateur and professional NABBA Universe titles, and the first Australian to win them both individually.

From 1985 - 1989 he lived in the United States, then returned to Australia where he opened the successful Broadway Gym in Sydney [website here]. After a highly successful career which solidified him as one of Australia's best bodybuilders in history, he retired in 1994.
