2008 New IFBB Pros Worldwide

We include all divisions, and so far have new pros listed from Australia, New Zealand, Sweden and the USA. This is not a comprehensive list, merely includes the new IFBB pros of 2008 from around the world that we are aware of. It is a work in progress!

2008 New IFBB Pro: Swedish pro Ahmad Ahmad

Originally from Iraq, Ahmad Ahmad now resides in Sweden and was granted IFBB pro status after winning the Swedish National Championships multiple times, as well as winning the Loaded Cup, silver medal on European Championships and the 2008 NPC Los Angeles Championships.

July 2008: USA Nationals

The USA Nationals were held on July 25 – 26 in Las Vegas. There were over 250 entrants and 9 pro cards were awarded.

 

Brandon Curry beat 17 competitors to win the overall mens bodybuilding to become an IFBB pro

Curtis Bryant beat 19 bodybuilders to win the light heavyweight class of the USA nationals and was awarded the 2nd pro card.

 

 

 

Veteran bodybuilder Isabelle Turrell won over 17 other female bodybuilders in the heavyweight and overall female bodybuilding class to achieve IFBB pro status.

 

 

Amy Martin beat 36 other figure competitors to win Class D and then won the overall figure to gain IFBB pro status

 

 

In the 29 strong Class B, Crystal Lowery emerged victorious to win her pro card.

 

Class E had 23 entrants, with Mendi Sakamoto winning the IFBB pro card

 

In her first national show, Rachel Cannon beat 20 other entrants to win Class F and IFBB pro status.

 

Jamie Costa, Class A, beat 19 other entrants to win her pro card

 

 

34 women entered Class C, with Michelle Nunn winning the class to go pro.

July 2008, USA Masters

With the best of American master competitors USA vying for a pro card, the NPC Masters Nationals were held on July 18 & 19, 2008 in Pittsburgh. Five pro cards were awarded, and these competitors join the international IFBB pro ranks. A veteran bodybuilder known for his classic posing, Vinny Galanti won the Masters [over 40] overall and becomes an IFBB pro.

Gus Carter was awarded the 2nd pro card in the Masters Class.

Bill Scarnaty won the over 50 class to achieve pro status.

Gale Frankie won the womens bodybuilding overall to achieve IFBB pro status.

Tina White won the Figure Masters [over 35]

Manual Manchado of Spain awarded IFBB pro card after overall win at 2008 European Men's Championships:

 

Ashlynn Evans of the USA awarded IFBB pro card in Fitness after overall win in 2008 NPC Junior USAs

 

Jessica Lyons of the USA awarded pro card in Figure after class win at Junior USAs

March 2008 New IFBB Pros

Con Demetriou. of Australia was awarded IFBB pro status after multiple overall national wins.

2008 New IFBB Pros

Mike Debenham of New Zealand was awarded an IFBB pro card after winning the overall New Zealand national championships.
